RIVERDALE PARK ART COUNCIL

ABOUT  RPAC

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission and purpose of the Riverdale Park Arts Council, Inc. is to encourage and coordinate artistic and cultural activities in the Riverdale Park community.

HISTORY
Riverdale Park Arts Council, Inc. (known as RPAC) was started by Emily Manning Fanning in 2008. While standing in Michelle Burns and Dwight Holmes Mystic Soap booth at the Riverdale Park Farmer's Market, Audrey Bragg, President of the Riverdale Park Business Association, walked up and began kidding the people standing around the booth about helping Emily to form the Art Council.

She laughingly said Emily, meet your board of directors: Dwight Holmes, Michelle Burns, Delvin Fanning, Pat Gladding, Marc Molino, Jim Coleman, Gerald King, Marita Novicky. Everybody was laughing. Thus Riverdale Park Arts Council began. The Directors were: Emily Fanning, President – Marc Molino, Vice President – Dwight Holmes, Treasurer – Marita Novicky, Secretary.

In May 2008 we put on our first annual Arts Festival where about 900 people showed up on a beautiful day. We were also incorporated in 2008 in the State of Maryland as a Tax Exempt Nonstock Corporation.
